CHANGES TO DELIVERY OF VACCINATION PROGRAMME FROM 01st March 2023
In the past those requiring a routine vaccination will have been invited to attend an appointment at your local GP Practice. As from 01 March 2023 most vaccinations will be delivered by the Health Board as part of a national vaccination transformation programme.

CORONAVIRUS - COVID 19 OUTBREAK
AS YOU ARE AWARE THERE IS CURRENTLY A GLOBAL OUTBREAK OF A VIRAL INFECTION KNOWN AS COVID-19.
IF YOU OR A MEMBER OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD HAVE A COUGH, COLD, SORE THROAT, SHORTNESS OF BREATH OR FEVER, OR LOSS OF/ CHANGE IN SENSE OF SMELL OR TASTE DO NOT GO TO YOUR GP SURGERY, PHARMACY OR HOSPITAL.
SYMPTOMS OF CORONAVIRUS
THE MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS ARE NEW:
CONTINUOUS COUGH
FEVER/ HIGH TEMPERATURE (37.8C OR GREATER)
LOSS OF, OR CHANGE IN, SENSE OF SMELL OR TASTE (ANOSMIA)

YOU SHOULD PHONE YOUR GP SURGERY IF:
YOUR SYMPTOMS WORSEN DURING HOME ISOLATION, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE IN A HIGH OR EXTREMELY HIGH RISK GROUP.
BREATHLESSNESS DEVELOPS OR WORSENS, PARTICULARLY IF YOU'RE IN A HIGH OR EXTREMELY HIGH RISK GROUP.
YOUR SYMPTOMS HAVEN'T IMPROVED IN 7 DAYS.
IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, PHONE 999 AND TELL THEM YOU HAVE COVID-19 SYMPTOMS.
NEW APPOINTMENTS PROCESS
WE HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE WAY WE OPERATE AT THE PRACTICE TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID AND OTHER RESPIRATORY VIRUSES/INFECTIONS .
GP APPOINTMENTS WILL BE BY TELEPHONE CONSULTATION IN THE FIRST INSTANCE. THE GP WILL THEN ARRANGE ANY FURTHER ACTION NECESSARY INCLUDING FACE TO FACE APPOINTMENTS. THE GP OR NURSE WILL BE WEARING PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT DURING YOUR CONSULTATION.
GP SURGERIES AND OTHER HEALTH AND CARE SETTINGS ARE TO ASK PATIENTS AND ACCOMPANYING CARERS RESPIRATORY SCREENING QUESTIONS PRIOR TO ENTERING THE PREMISES.

Respiratory Screening Questions for use across all health and care settings
PLEASE FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH THESE QUESTIONS AND IF YOU ANSWER YES TO ANY OF THEM ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND. INSTEAD WE ASK THAT YOU PHONE US AND LET US KNOW.

NHS NEAR ME VIDEO CONSULTATIONS
WE ARE ABLE TO OFFER VIDEO CONSULTATION KNOWN AS NHS NEAR ME. THIS ALLOWS FACE TO FACE CONSULTATION WITH A GP OR NURSE WITHOUT HAVING TO VISIT THE PRACTICE. THIS WILL BE ARRANGED BY THE GP OR NURSE IF THEY FEEL IT WOULD BE OF BENEFIT AFTER A TELEPHONE CONSULTATION HAS TAKEN PLACE. IN ORDER TO USE THIS YOU WILL NEED:
- A RELIABLE INTERNET CONNECTION - BROADBAND, WIFI OR MOBILE DATA
- A DEVICE FOR MAKING VIDEO CALLS - SMARTPHONE, TABLET OR COMPUTER WITH WEBCAM.
- THE CROME BROWSER (FREE TO DOWNLOAD) OR SAFARI BROWSER ON IPHONES/IPADS.
THERE IS NO APP TO DOWNLOAD OR LOG IN FOR PATIENTS. IT IS A WEB-BASED PLATFORM.

ORDERING YOUR PRESCRIPTION
YOU CAN ORDER YOUR PRESCRIPTION OVER THE PHONE OR VIA OUR WEBSITE - SEE PRESCRIPTIONS TAB.
ISOLATION NOTE
You can send an isolation note to your employer as proof you need to stay off work because of COVID -19. You don't need to get a note from a GP.
Local Community Hubs
Anyone living in the Highland Council area requiring support to self-isolate can request assistance by calling a new help line at 0300 303 1362.
THE NHS IS OPEN
It's vital those with non-coronavirus health concerns still seek help as they would have before the outbreak.
The NHS is here for you, so don't ignore the warning signs. You are not being a burden, you are looking after yourself and our NHS by doing so. If you notice a deterioration in your health or someone in your household, call your GP in normal hours, 111 out of hours, or in an emergency dial 999.
Your community pharmacy and GP surgery are open, please contact them for advice or with concerns.
If you are concerned about a potential sign or symptom of cancer contact your GP to get checked.
If you or your child has an immunisation appointment, make sure you attend, or reschedule if your showing symptoms of COVID-19.
If you have a regular appointment for a chronic condition such as asthma or diabetes you should contact your GP and they will advise you. If your hospital appointment has not been cancelled you should still attend.
COVID-19 patients and those displaying symptoms are treated separately.

Cancer
- Don't delay in getting potential cancer signs and symptoms checked during COVID-19 your GP practice is still here for you.
- It's probably nothing serious, but it's best to get checked, as the earlier cancer is found the easier it is to treat.
- Information on the common signs and symptoms of cancer can be found at www.getcheckedearly.org.
- NHS screening services for breast, bowel and cervical cancer have been paused during COVID-19 but if you've noticed symptoms and are concerned, your GP practice is open and ready to help. Getting checked early is one of the main reasons why more people are surviving cancer.

Access & Parking
There is a large car park at the rear of the building – turn left past the surgery. We ask you to use this car park whenever possible, as we only have four spaces at the front, which need to be available for less mobile or disabled people.
